The national Rail Users Network is bringing their national conference to Los Angeles this year because of the rail renaissance underway here. Move LA Executive Director Denny Zane is on the Friday, March 27, agenda as is Art Leahey, former Metro CEO and now CEO of Metrolink. The program agenda includes a discussion of local projects as well as High Speed Rail, and efforts to preserve the current routing of Amtrak’s venerable Southwest Chief.

The Los Angeles Business Council’s 2015 Sustainability Summit at the stunning Getty Center overlooking Los Angeles always features a long list of VIP speakers covering every angle about sustainability. At this year’s event, on Friday, April 24, LABC will be releasing a new report on strategies for sustainable economic development along the Los Angeles River.

Every year the Oakland-based nonprofit TransForm brings together transportation, housing, labor, disability rights and social justice advocates to connect, strategize and learn from each other about how to win change. The 2015 Transportation Choices “Year of Action” Summit on Monday, April 27, in Sacramento, is followed by an Advocacy Day at the state Capitol.
