April 22 was a big day for Move LA at Union Station — the Cathedral of Public Transportation — with a big crowd, big panels and a big, aspirational conversation about what LA County can be. See Ted Soqui's photos on our flickr page. (Click on the photos to see a caption explaining who is who.)
Move LA's 7th Annual Transportation Conversation was entitled "Re-Imagining LA County With Shared Prosperity For All." Last year we invited the people of LA County to dream big about what we could achieve with our "strawman" proposal for another sales tax measure for transportation. And we've been talking to people across the county ever since to hear what they think, even as LA Metro begins gathering ideas for an update to Metro's Long Range Transportation Plan and for a possible ballot measure in November 2016.
At our conference, attended by 500 transportation leaders and stakeholders, there were more than 50 panelists who talked about the possibilities. We asked them, "Where are we now [with our transportation investment plan]?" And "Where do we want to go?" Watch for our upcoming video, which captured some of their answers live.
