What Does the Infrastructure Bill Mean for Southern California? What can we do to bring more money to SoCal?

The Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act (also called the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill) was signed into law on November 15, 2021. Our panel will discuss how this law will fund mass transit, build other public infrastructure to support goods movement, and create tens of thousands of jobs in Southern California. U.S. Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-34), a senior member of the Ways & Means Committee, and Chad Edison, Chief Deputy Secretary for Rail and Transit for CalSTA, will give keynote remarks on how the federal and state governments plan to allocate the funding. They will be joined by (left to right) Zahirah Mann, President and CEO at SLATE-ZKatherine Perez from ARUP; Heather Repenning, Executive Officer of Sustainability Policy at LA Metro and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at the Metropolitan Water District; Beth Osborne, Director of Transportation for America in Washington DC; and Anne-Marie Otey, Communications Director for the LA/OC Building and Construction Trades Council.
