SF TO ENFORCE COMMUTER BENEFITS ORDINANCE

San Francisco is going to start enforcing its Commuter Benefits Ordinance, which requires businesses with 20 or more workers to offer one of three transit benefits: a pretax deduction of up to $245 per month for transit or vanpool expenses; transit subsidies valued at $74, the cost of a monthly Muni pass; or a vanpool from a worker's home to place of business. Steve Hymon notes on his Metro's The Source blog that LA has no such law but that Metro does have a variety of voluntary employer-sponsored transit passes that are worth checking out.
